EagleForce Warrior Foundation is pleased to announce our keynote speaker for the 2019 Warrior Gala, Admiral James G. Stavridis, U.S. Navy (Retired).

 

A Florida native, Jim Stavridis attended the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, and spent 37 years in the Navy, rising to the rank

of 4-star Admiral. Among his many commands were four years as the 16th Supreme Allied Commander at NATO, where he

oversaw operations in Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, the Balkans, and piracy off the coast of Africa. He also commanded US Southern

Command in Miami, charged with military operations through Latin America for nearly three years. He was the longest serving

Combatant Commander in recent US history. Following his military career, he served for five years as the 12th Dean of The Fletcher

School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Admiral Stavridis has published eight books on leadership, the oceans, maritime affairs, and Latin America, as well as hundreds

of articles in leading journals. An active user of social networks, he has tens of thousands of connections on the social networks.

His TED talk on 21st century security in 2012 has had over 800,000 views. He tweeted the end of combat operations in the Libyan

NATO intervention. His memoir of the NATO years, The Accidental Admiral, was released in October 2014, and he had two books

out in 2017: The Leader’s Bookshelf: 50 Books That Make Us Better Leaders in March and Sea Power: The History and Geopolitics

of the Oceans in June.

Lt. Gen. Patricia D. Horoho, U.S. Army, Retired

 

Patty currently serves as the CEO for Optum’s Military, Veterans and Federal Government group (OptumServe). Prior to joining Optum, Patty served on the Accenture Federal Services team as the Client Account Lead and Managing Director for Military Health. 

  In December 2015, Lt. Gen. Patricia D. Horoho completed her four year tour of duty as commander the U.S. Army’s Medical Command and 43rd Army Surgeon General. Patty was the first female and nurse in the Department of Defense’s 239 year history to hold these posts.

As a soldier, Patty served for 33 years and at every level of leadership within Army Medicine including: Surgeon General and Army Medical Command Commanding General; Special Assistant to the Commander, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Afghanistan; Deputy Surgeon General; Chief of the Army Nurse Corps; Western Regional Medical Command; Commander, Madigan Army; and, Commander, Walter Reed Health Care System.

Lt. Gen. Robert S. Ferrell, U.S. Army, Retired

Throughout his career, Lieutenant General Ferrell has served in Army units in the United States,
Korea, and Europe and has deployed to Bosnia and Iraq. In addition to traditional company and
field grade level assignments, he has commanded at every level from platoon to Army major
subordinate command.

He has earned numerous honors for his outstanding military service.

Robert retired from the United States Army in March 2017, following 38 years of distinguished
service. He currently serves as the vice president of federal strategy for World Wide
Technology. He is married to the former Monique Doute’ of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and
they have two adult sons.

 

Sgt. Major Alford L. McMichael, U.S. Marine Corp, Retired 

Sergeant Major McMichael served for more than 36 years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was appointed as the 14th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps on 30 June 1999.  His career later culminated with the appointment as the first senior noncommissioned officer for Allied Command Operations to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (NATO) in 2003.
